Waterloo take credit from heavy defeat

FORGET this scoreline: there is much that Waterloo can take away from this North Two match.

In the opening half, with the opposition enjoying at least 90 per cent of the possession, they tackled themselves to a standstill and only with Njike Tchakoute in the sin bin was their line breached.

Yet with the ball they made too many mistakes.

With Tchakoute in the sin bin from a scrum five metres out, Ben Walker found the gap to glide over. Pietro Nanci slotted the conversion and again, using the extra man, Lee Dyment went over wide out.

In the second half Waterloo began well with a break by Martin Bell deserving a better fate but with Gareth Collins slicing through the Waterloo defence the home side were once again on the back foot.

Scott Alfred brought up the bonus point.

Waterloo did come back in the final minute with a well deserved try from Liam Reeve, converted by Liam McGovern.
