OUTGOING St Helens star Sean Long admits his departure from the club hasn’t sunk in yet.
Long’s glittering 12-year association with Saints came to an end with Saturday’s 18-10 Grand Final defeat to Leeds at Old Trafford.
The 33-year-old scrum-half won 11 trophies with the Knowsley Road outfit after joining from Wigan in 1997, but is moving to Hull on a two-year deal effective from the start of November after Saints were only prepared to extend his contract with them by a year.
Long said: “It still hasn’t sunk in that I’m leaving yet. It’ll be weird when I get up on Monday morning and realise I don’t have to go training with the lads.
“It’s been a long time but you’ve got to get on with it haven’t you? I’ll miss my mates and they’re a good set of lads and I love them to pieces.”
