Ukrainian Klitschko, 38, will face contender Johnson at the PostFinance-Arena in Bern before Christmas after successful defences against Juan Carlos Gomez and Chris Arreola in March and September respectively.
“I am in excellent shape and had a perfect preparation and fight in Los Angeles (against Arreola),” said Klitschko (38-2, 37KOs).
“I can hardly wait to step into the ring again. Kevin Johnson is very dangerous, he already had 23 fights as a pro and is undefeated.
“He is technically much better than my last opponent Arreola. I know I can’t underestimate Johnson but I have no doubt I will keep the WBC belt.”
While Atlanta-based Johnson is rated as a good prospect in America, his record of 22 wins and a draw features only nine inside the distance.
