Caldy hit by controversy as Fylde take the points after late penalty try

IN THIS fiercely fought battle between old rivals it was Fylde who eventually came out the victors after a controversial penalty try was awarded in the last 10 minutes of the game.

After the first try, scored by Paul Arnold, the play could be described as nothing short of scrappy. Fylde brought on their two star wingers Oliver Brennand and Matthew Garett who scored 22 of their 27 points.The home side pulled it together after the break with Jake Lyon and Neil Kerfoot scoring one each, before a late Fylde penalty try.
