No reward for Waterloo

WATERLOO went down 30-17 at Westoe, a try to the home side in the final minute putting an undeserved gloss on the scoreline.

A try for Westoe from Daniel Rayson converted by Charles Raynor gave the north east side an early lead. Waterloo replied with a try from James O’Brien as the Merseysiders launched a counter attack.

Martin Bell crossed for the second, the beneficiary of a catch and drive to give Waterloo the lead at 7-10. On the stroke of half-time the home side levelled matters with a penalty from Rayner.

At the beginning of the second half Rayner crossed for an early converted try. Waterloo hit back with a try from Naom Dubant. Liam McGovern added the conversion to put Waterloo again level but a penalty from Rayner put the home side ahead a third time with a try from Mike Ellary extending the lead.

Westoe sealed matters with a try from James Walker.
