Depleted Blues earn draw

NEW BRIGHTON, with a depleted squad had to settle for a draw, in this North One West clash at Hartsfield.

They had the satisfaction of scoring two tries but in the end paid dearly for their own indiscretions with the visitors surviving via five penalty kicks.

The Blues at one stage found themselves down to 12 players due to yellow card offences but they fought magnificently and defended well.

Anthony Birley crossed in the first-half for Brighton and added the conversion.

Paul Lewis got the second-half touch-down and Birley a penalty.

Loa Topou was excellent in the home pack and Sean Ellis shone in the centre.
