High-flying LSH still keen to improve

LSH continued their good form last Saturday with a substantial win over Blackburn to leave them in clear second place in North One West.

With a third of the programme finished, the Moss Laners have everything to play for as they head into the winter series of fixtures.

After Saturday’s win it was an appropriate time for director of rugby, Martin Jones, to reflect on the season so far.

“Standards have been set and each player must aim to perform at the highest possible standard each week,” he said. “That’s why, even though we scored 43 points with three tries in each half against a gritty Blackburn side, not everyone was satisfied with the performance. It’s a measure of the significant progress made this season.”

This week, LSH return to fourth-placed Broughton Park following their narrow 22-20 Lancashire Cup win in August. It promises to be a stern test for the Moss Lane outfit.
