Birkenhead Park can’t afford any more slip ups says John McNally

BIRKENHEAD PARK maintained their unbeaten home record and moved up to fourth place in NationalThree North after their latest victory over Penrith.

The Cumbrian outfit were overcome 16-8 at the Upper Park but it was not until Gavin Scott’s try in the 70th minute that the game was secured as a resolute Penrith defence proved a tough obstacle to break down.

This Saturday Park break new ground as they make a first ever visit to Rochdale.

Director of rugby John McNally said: “They may have only won two games but all their matches have been close and we are sure to face another tough match at Rochdale. We can’t afford another slip-up at this stage of the season.”

The Park Wanderers drew 15-15 at LSH in the Bateman BMW Premiership. This Saturday the Wanderers face a tough match at home to Sedgley Park, 2.15pm kick-off. The Park Panthers are also in action on Saturday at the Upper Park as they take on Manchester University Ladies at noon looking to continue their excellent form.

The Park Veterans took the honours on Saturday against the touring Gwyneffydd from South Wales.
