NEW BRIGHTON proved they can still perform without their Tongan contingent as they won 29-14 at Aspatria in their latest North One West clash.
“We totally dominated until switching off in the dying moments to concede a try,” claimed coach Steve Dorrington.
Dorrington was particularly pleased with the commitment shown by the players. Ex-colt Luke Thompson on the wing was handed the man of the match tag and there was a sound debut from forward recruit Muhammed Mustafa.
The Tongans, except skipper Kati Tuipulotu, will be back in contention this Saturday when the Blues should chalk up their sixth victory to make another move up the table.
Blackburn provide the opposition at Hartsfield and to date have not won a match in the division. There will be a 2.15pm kick-off with the Blues having decided to ditch their 3pm starts this winter.
