Light at the end of the tunnel for West Park

WEST PARK were again denied victory in the later stages of the game against top of the table challengers Stockport at the weekend.

As the game finished 18-15 in visitors Stockport’s favour, the Merseysiders had to settle for a single bonus point that still leaves them stranded at the bottom of National Three North.

Considering the activity in Park’s treatment room recently, their performance was most praisewothy.

They started without the likes of injured Rob Hitchmough and lost the services of experienced hooker Mark Bonati in the second half.

With the club preparing for the trip over the Pennines to face Sheffield Tigers this weekend, there may be some light at the end of the tunnel with several players including centre Steve Briers expected to return.

Tigers are full of confidence at the moment with a good win at Darlington Mowden Park last weekend and having gathered more bonus points than any other club in the division.
