BIRKENHEAD Park slumped to a 6-5 defeat at a saturated Moorgate where Rochdale triumphed in a dour encounter.
Dave Hall managed the only try of the game but once again Park's forward superiority was not turned into points and two first half penalties by Steve Collins proved to be enough for the home side.
It was a forgettable afternoon and Park will be hoping for a more entertaining affair when Lymm visit the Upper Park this Saturday for the Cheshire Cup semi-final, 2.15pm kick-off.
New signing Adam Couples from Ballymena could be in line for a place after doing bench service this week. Couples is a highly rated prospect who is studying at John Moores University and he impressed for the Park Wanderers the previous week.
The Park Wanderers clash against Sedgley Park and the Panthers fixture with Manchester University Women were both casualties of the waterlogged pitches at the Upper Park but the Tigers carried on their unbeaten run with a 74-7 victory at Ormskirk.
