Chairman Ian Worsley steps in at West Park after coach Kevin Greaves resigns

CURRENT rugby chairman Ian Worsley will take charge of the team for the time being following the resignation of coach Kevin Greaves after a dispute over selection procedures.

Greaves took over from Chris Chudleigh for the start of the new season but with 11 games played and only one win the team is plugged firmly at the bottom of the National Three North table.

Greaves was adamant that his departure had nothing to do with the results to date.

He said: “Despite results some light was starting to appear at the end of the tunnel. The team was starting to develop but unfortunately there has been an issue over selection.”

On Saturday the first team have a critical battle against visitors West Hartlepool at Red Rocks. The north east side are just above Park in the table.
