Defeat is not on the agenda for Waterloo says Steve Moore.

WATERLOO director of rugby Steve Moore has called for instant improvement from his flagging Waterloo side.

“We have had a close look at ourselves over the past week,” he said. “We are at the bottom of National Two North and we have got to start winning matches to change that.

“All the players have been involved and they have been open and honest with where they see us going and where they want to be.”

These are indeed crucial weeks for the Blundellsands club with three winnable matches at Hull this Saturday, at home to Kendal the week after followed by Broadstreet away on December 12.

“We need to win all three to give ourselves any chance of moving up the table,” Moore conceded.

“Defeat is not on the agenda and the players have bought into that.

“We know our defence needs to improve and John Stankevitch held his first session on Tuesday – but we also need to be more consistent with the ball in hand.”

Njike Tchakoute has recovered from a knee injury, Liam McGovern is fit after a shoulder problem and both should be included for Saturday’s game.

Martin Bell who has been out with a back strain has been assessed at 50/50. He will have a late fitness test as to whether he will be included.
