Frustration deepens at Waterloo

FRUSTRATION was etched on the faces of the Waterloo faithful as they trooped out of the ground after seeing their favourites lose to Kendal in a game in which they did everything but win.

Yet three players sent to the sin-bin – Carl Nolan on 25 minutes, Jason Harrison on 31, reducing the home side for a time to 13 men, to be followed by Njike Tchakoute on 37 is a statistic that cannot be ignored.

Until it is addressed there are going to be more such Saturdays at Blundellsands.

Although Waterloo only conceded three points during the absence of Nolan and Harrison, the loss of Tchakoute proved the killer blow as the visitors ran in 13 points during that period.

Waterloo did pick up a losing bonus point from this match but it could and should have been much more.

This Saturday they travel to Coventry to take on Broadstreet, a game from which they really need to return with maximum points before they take on third place Caldy at Blundellsands.

They may still be a young and inexperienced side but if they are to improve and give themselves any chance they must keep all 15 players on the pitch for the full 80 minutes.
