THIS coming Saturday Waterloo are away to Hull Ionians.
Thirteenth place Ionians are only three points above the relegation zone giving Waterloo an incentive to cut the deficit.
Although the Blundellsands club has a mountain to climb to escape relegation these are the games they must target if they are to stand any chance of staying up at the end of the season.
“This is a pivotal game for us and could define the rest of our season,” declared director of rugby Steve Moore. “We had a team meeting last week and the players are well aware of the seriousness of the situation. We have set targets for the remainder of the season but so crucial is this game that at the moment we are not looking beyond it.”
Some good news for the club is that Liam McGovern and Steve Ross return from injury with James Gee and James O’Brien also available for selection this weekend.
Due to the weather the squad will train three times this week.
