LOCAL RUGBY UNION: LSH hoping for a rare outing

AFTER another blank week, common sense prevailed at Altrincham Kersal where they and LSH did everything to get the game on.

Weather permitting this week, Moss Lane will host the rearranged North One West fixture against Sandbach, postponed from January 9.

LSH will be hoping for a repeat of the performance back in September when they returned from Bradwall Road with a comprehensive 29-11 win.

Martin Jones said: “As ever in this league, it will be a close affair, there is nothing much between the top eight sides.

“Mind you, I thought we were terrific in the second half against the Vale Of Lune and I’m looking for more of the same.”

Jones’s hand is strengthened by the probable return of prop Simon Griffiths and stand-off Simon Worsley following injuries picked up a fortnight ago against the Vale of Lune. Griffiths, making a big impression in his first season at the Lane, has recovered from a calf strain whilst the long-serving Worsley also hopes to be fit.
