TONY BELLEW says he would be willing to fight on Mars – but for now ruling the Commonwealth will suffice.
The Wavertree ‘Bomber’ takes on Ghana’s undefeated Atoli Moore for the vacant Commonwealth light-heavyweight belt next Friday at the Echo Arena.
Bellew (12-0) is emerging as one of Britain’s most explosive boxing talents and ahead of his biggest fight, the 27-year-old is predicting yet another knockout.
Bellew said: “ I love fighting in front of my own fans but it would not have mattered if it was in the middle of Mars. At the end of the day it is just me and him and when the bell goes I am just there to do damage.
“He’s 10-0 and doesn’t know how to lose yet but I’m going to knock him out – I don’t care how durable he is, I’m taking him out.”
Paul Smith defends his British super-middleweight title against fellow Liverpool boxer Tony Dodson in the headlining bout on the ‘Pride of Merseyside’ bill, Friday March 12.
