Wirral RUFC earn vital win over Glossop

WIRRAL maintained top place in South Lancashire/Cheshire One League with a 17-8 victory at Glossop.

Ross Page, Sam Broadbent and Dave Doneo gained tries and Dan Harvey one conversion.

Hoylake came away 31-17 to the good from Dukinfield and there were also wins for Ormskirk (42-24 against Sale) and Wigan (24-13 at the expense of Warrington).

Sefton took the Division Two cross-river derby against Wallasey 22-11. Mark Tyms, Jamie Cuthbertson and Tom Fletcher crossed for the winners with Adam Marnell getting two conversions and a penalty.

Wallasey managed a Ben Timson try and a pair of Stu Gilroy penalties.

Collegiate beat Moore 36-17 and Southport comfortably saw off Orrell Anvils 19-0 but there were defeats for Oldershaw (21-14 at Marple) and Ruskin Park (17-13 at home to Douglas).

Prenton drew 7-7 at Linley in Division Three. Meanwhile, Capenhurst accounted for Knutsford 24-14 and Ellesmere Port came away 20-6 winners from Helsby but Parkonians fell 38-7 against Ramsey with Barry Owens adding the extras to a consolation touch down from Ben Pearson.Leigh played out a 12-12 draw with Burnage in North One West.

St Edwards crushed West Park Warriors 58-3.
