Caldy RUFC take on Macclesfield in vital National 2 North league clash

IT IS crunch time for Caldy tomorrow as the National 2 North league title race comes to the boil.

A win for the Paton Field outfit at Macclesfield would make them serious contenders for a play-off place, if not the championship.

It could hardly be closer at the top of the table. Loughborough Students have 99 points, Caldy are on 96 and Macclesfield, with a game in hand, have 95.

Caldy currently on an 11-match winning run have not lost away this season. Macclesfield who have won their last 13 are unbeaten at Priory Park. Something must give tomorrow as the Wirral side bid to avenge an 16-11 home reverse in November.

Both clubs select from strength for a classic confrontation which will need a firm refereeing hand.

Waterloo look to be heading out of the division at the wrong end but will fight hard against Hull at Blundellsands.
