Liverpool St Helens in their very own Watergate!

SATURDAY’S defeat at Lymm leaves Liverpool St Helens with one more journey. Having last graced the Moss Lane turf seven weeks ago their mammoth road trip ends this weekend at Northwich.

Although LSH are now firmly booked for fourth place in North One West, a massive game is in prospect. A win for Northwich takes them to the play-offs while an LSH victory sees Altrincham Kersal taking the trip across the Pennines.

All this from a game which should have been played in February!

Known locally as LSH’s “Watergate”, the game was cancelled by Northwich due to a waterlogged pitch that did not have any water on it! “We are where we are” said Martin Jones. “The lads will treat this like any other game and give their very best.”
