Runcorn end season in style to clinch promotion to the top division in the Meller Braggins Cheshire League

RUNCORN rounded of their season in style to earn promotion to the top division in Meller Braggins Cheshire League.

Their final outing in Division Two realised a 66 runs margin over Barnton which was enough to keep them in second place in the table.

It was not so good for Parkonians and Wirral in Division Three. Their derby ended in a three runs victory for Parkonians and both clubs go down to Division One of the Cheshire Alliance.

Chester County Officers lost heavily at home but finish seventh in the division.

SCORES: Cheshire League Div Two: Runcorn 173-8dec Barnton 107. Div Three: Wirral 119 Parkonians 122, Chester CO 53 Romiley 54-2.
