Waterloo recover to beat Lymm and leave the relegation zone

WATERLOO moved out of the relegation zone following a bonus point 29-13 win at home to Lymm.

Yet for the opening quarter the Merseysiders looked anything but likely winners as the visitors, with most of the ball, went 6-0 up through two penalties from Luke Emmett.

A half break by Liam Reeve and a neat inside pass to James O’Brien put the winger in at the corner but Lymm hit back and after being held up over the line Joe Knowles was driven over, Emmitt’s conversion restoring the lead.

Power play by the Waterloo pack drove Sean Gibney over from a line out, O’Brien adding the extras, and the wing then picked up an audacious cross-kick from

Reeve to score in the corner which gave his side a 17-13 lead at

the interval.

In the second period Dan Palmer secured the bonus point before O’Brien rounded off a super performance with a try to bring up his hat-trick.
