CASTROGIOVANNI says the Azzurri will have to play the perfect game if they are to upset England tomorrow.
The Azzurri go into the RBS Six Nations clash at Twickenham looking for the type of battling performance that almost saw them upset Ireland last weekend.
A last-gasp drop-goal from fly-half Ronan O’Gara handed Ireland a 13-11 victory in Rome after Nick Mallett’s side had turned in one of their most encouraging performances since joining the championship in 2000.
England, meanwhile, beat Wales 26-19 to get their campaign off to the perfect start and secure a first win in Cardiff for eight years.
Castrogiovanni plies his trade with Leicester in England, recently agreeing a new deal with the Tigers, and knows just what a tough examination lies ahead.
“England won in Wales and proved to be in great form,” said Castrogiovanni.
“I believe they will battle with France to win the title.
“But we are going there convinced we can play a great game.
“We do, however, have to be careful as many times we have done very well in our opening game only to follow that up with a big loss.”
