THREE tries in the last eight minutes saw Widnes maintain their 100% record in the Northern Rail Cup with a 44-28 win over Toulouse.
The outlook was less than bright for the Vikings midway through the second half as they trailed 28-22.
Up to that point, the French side were looking good value for a victory.
But the final quarter saw the Vikings’ superior fitness win the day. Hooker Kirk Netherton, probably the Vikings’ stand-out performer on the day, edged his side in front and late scores from Chris Gerrard and Ben Kavanagh settled the issue.
