MISFORTUNE has certainly followed West Park around in this disastrous season, which will finish inevitably in relegation.
Saturday’s game proved no exception as, after leading from penalties by Liam Hill to an unconverted Northwich try, they lost winger Dave Griffiths, who caught a flying boot in a ruck and was taken to hospital with serious facial injuries.
Northwich then went ahead with a converted try before half-time, after a period of intense pressure on the Park line, with skipper Rob Morley leading from the front typically.
Back row Liam Fortune had, as usual, being playing well above his weight only for a broken hand to force his departure 20 minutes from time. Northwich added a further three tries to keep themselves in the hunt for promotion.
