COLLEGIATE will take part in their first Lancashire Plate final for more than 20 years on May Day Bank Holiday Monday at Sedgley Park, where they will take on the Widnes-based side Birchfield. This match will kick off at noon.
They achieved this by completing an impressive win at Didsbury TOC H by 32-23 last Saturday.
Manager Simon Taylor said: “The result against Didsbury was well deserved, but not without periods of anxiety.
“Our superior fitness began to show in the last quarter and during this time we were able to open the gap and secure our place in the final.
“The final against Birchfield will be a very tough encounter indeed and we will need to ensure that all necessary preparations are completed and selected players are fully focused on the day”
