SUPER League-bound Widnes ran in 12 tries as they crushed the London Skolars 62-18 in the Challenge Cup yesterday.
And they will get the chance to test their top flight credentials when they host Hull at Stobart Stadium in the fifth round – a repeat of the 1982 final which the Humberisde club won after a replay.
Winger Paddy Flynn led the way with four tries, while Macgruff Leuluai got two and Thomas Coyle, Tangi Ropati, Richard Varkulis, Grant Gore, Ste Tyrer and Dave Allen got one each.
Tyrer also kicked seven goals for a personal haul of 18 points, with the home side’s tries coming from Jaroslaw Obuchowski, Dave Arnot and James Anthony.
The draw for the fifth round of the Carnegie Challenge Cup is: Huddersfield v Catalan Dragons; Warrington v Swinton; Leeds v Harlequins; St Helens v Featherstone; Wakefield v Castleford; Bradford v Wigan; .
