Michael Monaghan joins brother Joel in Exiles squad

WARRINGTON hooker or half-back Michael Monaghan has joined his younger brother Joel in the Exiles squad for the mid-season international against England next month.

He is the latest selection of coach Brian McClennan for the June 10 clash at Headingley, joining his Warrington team-mates Brett Hodgson, Louis Anderson, Matt King and Joel in the overseas team drawn from NRL-trained players.

However, with a maximum of three players allowed from any one club, at least two of the Wolves quintet will miss out when McClennan cuts his squad from 22 to 18 three days before the game.

“I have selected Michael because he has the perfect skills to be a key player in a representative side,” said McClennan. “He is one of the form players of Super League and is pivotal to Warrington’s success.”
