Tom James to return to GB rowing colours

OLYMPIC champion Tom James will return to Great Britain colours for the first time in two years after being selected for the opening World Cup regatta of the season, in Munich later this month.

James, 27, took a year off after the Beijing Olympics but his planned comeback was delayed by injury which kept him sidelined for the whole of last season.

The Welshman has forced his way into the men’s four with Alex Partridge returning to the eight, the boat in which he won Olympic silver in 2008.

Greg Searle, the 1992 Olympic champion, had been tipped for a seat but he will continue his bid to compete at London 2012 alongside Partridge in the eight.
