Mike Kelly is the hero as Mossley Hill beat Old Xaverians in the Bromborough Paints Merseyside Competition

MIKE KELLY enjoyed an 8-18 haul for Mossley Hill who took a low scoring Division One match against Old Xaverians in the Bromborough Paints Merseyside Competition by just one wicket.

Brendan Woods (71) and Wayne Greve (36) enjoyed an unbroken first wicket partnership of 119 to take Port Sunlight to victory at Huyton.

A knock of 92 by Alagiah Suthakaran helped Maritime account for the Merseyside Commonwealth by two wickets.

Birkenhead Park went under by just four runs at home to Oakmere in a tense Division One Meller Braggins Cheshire League clash.

It was better for Runcorn who saw off Hale Barns by 30 runs in the same division and Chester County Officers who beat CH Ladybridge by four wickets in Division Three.

Nick Hitchell made 87 for Parkonians at Haslington in Division One of the Cheshire Alliance but they lost by 30 runs.
