WALLASEY YACHT CLUB enjoyed a successful Regatta on the Mersey off New Brighton on Saturday but conditions deteriorated overnight to prevent any competition in the West Cheshire Sailing Club annual event.
The home-based Seabirds had the Percy Wakeham Trophy at stake and it was Andrew Read who put his name to it as he sailed Cormorant into pole position
There was no Offshore fleet with the yachts having headed out of the river the previous evening in the annual Isle of Man race.
