WEST CHESHIRE AC youngsters secured a series of podium places at Warrington AC’s George Edwards Memorial Track and Field Medal Meeting.
Georgia Barlow grabbed a gold medal performance of 4.20m in the under-13s girls long jump, posted a silver medal time of 10.6 seconds in the 75m sprint and pocketed a silver medal from the 150m with a time of 21.2 seconds.
Alice Barnsley achieved a gold medal after clearing 1.25m in the U13s girls high jump, and added a bronze medal from the 75m sprint in a time of 10.8 seconds. Her brother Zac blasted his way to a gold medal with a time of 12.4 seconds in the under-15s boys 100m.
Taylor Kearns clinched a bronze medal from the U13s boys 100m with a time of 15 seconds. Alice McMahon celebrated victory with a time of 12.9 seconds in the under-17s ladies 100m and Danielle Erskine secured a silver medal with 4.99m in the senior women’s long jump.
Whitby High celebrated success at this year’s West Cheshire AC Schools Track and Field Cup Competition staged at the Stanney Oaks Track, Ellesmere Port.
The Sycamore Drive-based school won the overall cup event and also clinched victory in the boys competition.
Dean Grove, Ross Hetherington, Jack Hannigan, Lewis Pritchard Ellis, Jake Stinton, Zac Barnsley, Andrew Jones, Toby Blease, Jamie Bowles, Josh Pulford, Aaron Maxwell, Callum Caine, Jack Prince, Matthew Gelder, Sam Holmes, and Dominic Roberts scored the points.
FIXTURES for West Cheshire AC this weekend include the second round of the Northern Senior Track and Field League at Warrington’s Victoria Park on Saturday (11.30am) and the third round of the Young Athletes Track and Field League Northern Premier Division at Bebington Oval on Sunday (11.30am).
