West Cheshire AC’s Amy Williams continues top form with another title-winning performance in Yorkshire

AMY WILLIAMS continued her impressive season with a title-winning performance in Yorkshire.

The Chester-based athlete represented Sale Harriers at the Northern Track and Field Championships at Cudworth where she won the under-15s girls long jump title.

Williams, who started her club athletics at West Cheshire AC, is a pupil at Chester Queen’s School, and won the event at Cudworth with a leap of 5.46m.

Williams also competed in the triple jump and finished fourth with 11.10m.

Tessa McCormick, from Chester, won the under-17s women’s 3,000m title with a time of 10:35.33 representing Vale Royal

Tarporley-based Amy Hinchly represented Vale Royal in the U15s girls 1500m and finished second with a time of 4:48.81.

FIXTURES for next month’s series of Tuesday night Wirral Multi-Terrain League have been released. The first event is at Royden Park, Frankby, on September 6, (7pm start); round two is on September 13 (7pm), on the beach at Harrison Drive, Wallasey; round three takes place at Wirral Country Park, Thurstaston, on September 20, (6.30pm); and the final round is at Arrowe Country Park, on September 27, (6.30pm).
