THE Vikings transfer spending spree may not be over after Widnes’ director of rugby Paul Cullen revealed they are still in the hunt for a prop and three quarter to boost their Super League squad.
Widnes, who have already signed 13 new players on their return to the top flight, are ready to increase the quality of the squad again should the right personnel present itself.
Cullen, who has been working relentlessly to rebuild the Vikings squad since the club was granted a licence back in March, says he would be ready to delve back into the transfer market in a bid to give Widnes more muscle upfront and some extra speed out wide.
He said: “If we could bring in another prop and someone in the three-quarters then that would enhance what we have already got. However, if the Super League competition was to kick-off tomorrow then we would be ready to go as we have 25 players.”
