Birkenhead Park stick to task as they earn sixth victory in National Three North

BIRKENHEAD PARK were made to fight extremely hard for this sixth victory in National Three North.

The scoreline was harsh on the visitors, but Park stuck to their task when little seemed to be going right.

They gifted West the first try on 18 minutes by Stuart Waites who also added the goal but it was 7-7 by the break with Christian Jones going in for Birkenhead and Dave Hall converting.

The visitors, with the wind in their favour, edged in front again via a Waites penalty but Park dug deep and suddenly fortunes took a turn for the better. Their best passing move culminated in a try for Rob Houliston. Hall added the extras and then a penalty to make it 17-10.

Olly Mabbott then got in at the corner before Jones gained his second try from a counter following the re-start. Another Hall conversion added to the score and Park had earned a bonus point.
