However, they did secure a bonus point for scoring four tries which keeps them in third.
They trailed 32-0 before wing Matty Smith got them onto the scoresheet.
A much better showing in the second period saw Andrew Riley score while Smith went on to complete his hat-trick. But Sandbach wrapped things up with two late tries.
