NEW BRIGHTON responded to a past players re-union at Hartsfield with a solid display to post a 24-7 victory over Winnington Park in South Lancashire/Cheshire One League.
The Blues, with the added bonus point, are now fourth in the table but they are realistically fighting for the runners-up spot. Sale are clear at the top and their squad looks far too strong for all others in the division.
Brighton were glad to have Alan Hesketh and Joe Cardus back in their line-up following injury lay offs and Hesketh was amongst the try scorers.
Kati Tuipulotu went in twice and the fourth touch down was credited to sub Damien Cook. Luke Thompson converted on two occasions.
More players should become available in the near future and the Blues are hopeful they can chalk up win number seven this Saturday when they journey to Orrell.
