AFTER the disappointment of the previous week Waterloo returned to winning ways with a bonus try 33-11 win at home to Beverley, a result that further consolidates their sixth position in National Three North.
“After last week’s disappointment this was a massive improvement,” agreed director of rugby Jan Van Deventer.
“We were more mentally sharp and I think we have now put that reversal at Altringham Kersal well behind us and we go forward from here.
“It was a whole team effort but I thought Andrew Trotter, Alex Croft and Martin Bell together with Liam Reeve were outstanding this afternoon, and it was also good to see Liam stamp his authority on the game right from the kick off.”
This week Waterloo are away at league leaders Darlington Mowden Park.
“We have some very tough fixtures coming up,” Deventer said. “However with 26 points in the table and a healthy sixth place we are no longer continually looking over our shoulders at what’s coming up.”
