LSH give an emergency service

THERE is emergency action of the best possible kind at Liverpool St Helens this Saturday when paramedics from the North West Ambulance Service take to the field in aid of a good cause.

In a curtain raiser to LSH’s North One West clash against Wilmslow, paramedics from Cheshire and Merseyside are taking on a combined XV made up of paramedics from the Ambulance Service’s Manchester and Liverpool Hazardous Area Response teams. The game, which kicks off at noon, is being played in aid of Ronald McDonald House at Alder Hey Hospital.

LSH chairman John Bithell said: “The emergency services do a great job. We are only too happy to open up our facilities and will also have a collection for their cause during the first XV game.”

LSH director of rugby Martin Jones, meanwhile, is not planning any emergency measures of his own following last Saturday’s one-point defeat at Northwhich.

“We’ve had a thorough debrief, looked hard at ourselves.” he said. “There is competition for places.”
