A DISASTROUS eight- minute spell in the first-half put paid to Birkenhead Park in this National Three North League clash at the Upper Park.
Park got no reward for a good opening spell but then their defence fell apart as Rossendale ran in tries by Dan Harrison, Steve Nutt and Jamie Albinson plus one conversion by Nutt.
Dave Hall got Park on the score sheet with a penalty on the half hour but Nutt replied to make it 3-20 at the half way stage.
Bright handling brought a 65th minute touch down by Jack Ashcroft for the home side to raise hopes but they could not find another way through.
Rossendale restored their 17 points advantage with a late breakaway try by Albinson to stay in contention for league honours.
