CALDY aim to tame the Sheffield Tigers at Dore Moor tomorrow to maintain their challenge for honours in National Two North League.
A shadow hangs over them, however, with skipper Richard Vasey sidelined after sustaining a broken leg during last week’s win over Westoe.
But the players are determined to give their captain a recovery boost with a positive performance.
The Tigers are fourth from bottom but did well enough at leaders Loughborough Students in their latest outing before going under 26-10.
Vasey’s absence means Caldy must decide on who takes over the place kicking duties.
Chester, Waterloo and Birkenhead Park face away trips in National Three North but all look to have winning opportunities.
Second-placed Chester head for Morley, hoping Will Bown will resume in the forwards.
Waterloo are due at West Hartlepool and Birkenhead cross to Burnage for a first-ever clash between the clubs.
North One leaders LSH will need to be on their guard away to Leigh.
Warrington hope to make it 12th time lucky in South Lancs/Cheshire One when they entertain New Brighton. All 11 games have been lost.
Sefton at Ellesmere Port in Division Two give Matt Bland a chance at scrum-half. James Keegan joins the front-row.
Wallasey in Division Three put their 100 per cent winning record on the line at home to Linley.
