New Brighton pushing Sale after Warrington victory

NEW BRIGHTON posted a 24-13 victory at Warrington to move into second place behind Sale in the South Lancashire/Cheshire One table.

The luckless home side never gave up the fight but remain rooted at the bottom of the table after 12 successive reverses.

Parkonians took the derby at Port Sunlight 13-0 thanks to tries by Barry Owens and Paul Hillan plus a penalty by Liam Sadler.

Prenton were happy with a 41-0 demolition of Congleton but Capenhurst went under 43-17 at Knutsford.

North Lancashire One scores included Birchfield 0, Littleborough 38 and St Edwards 16, Tarleton 33.

Crosby St Mary’s accounted for Clitheroe 19-8 in Division Two with Mossley Hill drawing 15-15 at Pendle.
