Chester down to third

CHESTER, after making the running in National Three North League in the opening months of the season, now find themselves down to third position following defeat at Morley at the weekend.

The Hare Lane side was having an inquest as to what went wrong at Scatcherd Lane where they maintained territorial advantage for much of the 80 minutes.

They had the satisfaction of scoring the only try via Andy Baston but were penalised for their silly mistakes as Morley landed five penalties for victory.

Lloyd Hayes scored the other Chester points with a brace of penalties.

Chester welcome a break this weekend. Their next league action will be on December 3 and it is a big one against their Cheshire rivals who have made good progress up the table.

The Northwich v Chester Cheshire Cup semi-final is earmarked for January.
