Chester close in at the top

CHESTER surprised themselves with an excellent 29-17 victory over Cheshire rivals Lymm at Hare Lane last weekend.

The victory took them up a place to second in the National Three North league table five points behind leaders Darlington Mowden Park.

Second teamer Noam Devey was one of the four Chester try scorers.

Liam McGovern took over the kicking duties and helped the home cause with a penalty and a trio of conversions.

Chester welcome Bradford and Bingley this Saturday and will not be able to take anything for granted against the sixth placed side.
