LSH eager to put things right at Sandbach

DESPITE Saturday’s loss to Widnes, Liverpool St Helens remain in second place in North One West and find themselves with little time to lick their wounds after the 34-17 defeat.

This Saturday brings a trip to league leaders Sandbach when the Moss Laners will be looking to avenge the early season narrow reverse against the Cheshire outfit.

Director of rugby Martin Jones said: “It’s no bad thing.

“The lads are eager to put matters right.

“Widnes played well but we were far from our best last Saturday, making too many errors as well as making poor decisions.”

Jones is looking for the sort of performance on show at Leigh the week before.

“That’s the real LSH,” he said. “We will look at ourselves and work hard this week to recreate it.”

LSH have no new injury worries in the build-up to the visit to Bradwall Road whilst the hosts now sit seven points clear after a 28-11 win at Carlisle last week.

The club is also celebrating the recent success of the Under 16s at the 2011 Scarborough Junior Rugby Festival. Managed by Paul Killilea and coached by Kevin Simms and Damian Oldham, the LSH boys went through the tournament undefeated.
