WATERLOO director of rugby Jan Van Deventer is a satisfied man as the campaign reaches its midway point.
After his side took a bonus try win at home to Sandal he said: “Thirty one points and half way through the league campaign, this is the best start to a season we have made for a number years.
“There is a great spirit throughout the squad and the vibes around the club are very positive. After checking on fitness I will probably go with the same starting line-up at Burnage this Saturday.”
The game at Burnage will be played on an artificial pitch, a first time for the Merseysiders who were trying to arrange a run out on a suitable surface before this Saturday’s game.
Van Deventer added: “We have approached both Orrell, who have the use of an artificial surface at their St John Rigby College base, and we have also been making enquiries at Liverpool University.
“If all else fails we will travel early and get a run out before the game kicks off.”
