THERE were plenty of weather casualties on a bleak December afternoon but a number of games did survive the elements, writes Andrew Stratton.
New Brighton put recent disappointments behind them as they saw off Collegiate 38-7 at Hartsfield.
The result was never really in doubt and the Blues advanced to third place in the South Lancashire/Cheshire One table
Wigan went down 19-29 at Tyldesley but Warrington were happy as they posted their second victory of the campaign 10-6 at the expense of Ormskirk.
Oldershaw had little to cheer in the Isle of Man where they crashed 0-57 against Douglas in Division Two.
Southport also lost 5-25 against Dukinfield but Ruskin Park stayed in the promotion picture as they came away 14-10 to the good from Trentham.
St Edwards in North Lancashire One lost 16-23 at Burnley.
Match postponements included Birkenhead Park v Chester in National Three North and Anselmians v Wilmslow, Wirral v Sandbach, LSH v Rochdale and Northwich v Leigh in North One.
Other games off included Orrell v Bowdon, Sefton v Oswestry, Ashton on Mersey v Hoylake, Ellesmere Port v Crewe and Nantwich and Trafford Park v Birchfield.
There is now a three week break for the players with the next league engagements scheduled for January 7th.
