New Brighton RUFC remain on the promotion trail

NEW BRIGHTON regained winning form in South Lancashire/Cheshire One League at the weekend to move into third place in the table.

The 38-7 score against Collegiate at Hartsfield was well merited and they are now back to third place in the table and determined to make a real challenge for the all important second position.

Sale look to be in an almost unassailable position at the head of the table so effectively there is only one other promotion place left.

Evergreen Kati Tuipulotu made a successful return to action for the Blues against Collegiate with three of their six touchdowns.

Jack Harris crossed twice and Matt Cook once with Luke Thompson adding all but one of the conversions.

The game was effectively over at the halfway stage with the home side up 33-0.

Collegiate made a fist of things later and were rewarded with an interception try to which the extras were added.

NEW BRIGHTON are sure to face a tough test at Wigan when they resume their programme on January 7.
