PROVIDING the current cold snap relents, then Widnes will make their third and final trip of the season up to Cumbria on Saturday to take on Aspatria at Bower Park.
The cancellation of last weekend’s scheduled match at Anselmians means that Widnes will have gone four weeks without a game since the victory over Leigh, so they will be anxious to get their show back on the road again.
Aspatria are currently bottom of the table propping up the rest, but Widnes will be acutely aware that a trip to Cumbria in a freezing cold February is fraught with danger, and they will have to concentrate fully if they are to get anything from this one.
With only two games being played last weekend, Liverpool St Helens took full advantage to move back into second spot in North One West, although Widnes have two games in hand over their derby rivals.
LSH also have to make the trip down to Heath Road before the end of the season.
