SANDIWAY assistant Gareth Jones took top honours at the Eaton Ladies Pro-Am.
Jones breezed round in eight under par 64 on a blustery day to eclipse Andrew Barnett (North Wales DR) by five shots.
Third spot went to Adam Powell (Hartford GC , 69) in an event which attracted 27 teams of one professional and three amateur ladies .
The winning team from Caldy GC was pro Alan Gibbons, Pat Smith, Amanda Ryan and Jo Beddows. Second were Barnett with Margaret Chantler, Val Cunningham and Lesley Kirby from Eaton in a card play off from the team of Jones, Sue Pickering from Eaton and Fay Dillaway-Parry and Joy Young from Delamere Forest GC.
CHESTER club Upton-by-Chester is helping more people to get into golf.
The club is offering free golf coaching taster sessions for adult beginners on Mondays (10am-11am) on November 5/12/19.
